WNC Sanctuary Movement is a Facebook page (recently re-titled Sanctuary Everywhere) committed to educating people about the law, events and actions they can take to support our immigrant neighbors. This is a private Facebook page; you must be approved to join.
National Immigration Law Center lists on its website that “NILC is one of the leading organizations in the U.S. exclusively dedicated to defending and advancing the rights of immigrants with low income. [They] believe all people who live in the U.S. should have the opportunity to achieve their full potential… [They] play a major leadership role in addressing the real-life impact of policies that affect the ability of low-income immigrants to prosper and thrive.” The link offers educational resources.
Informed Immigrant is a national website that attempts to connect people who want to help with others who are taking action. On their homepage, they state “Immigrant rights organizations and leaders across the country have banded together and pooled resources to help immigrants and their allies obtain the current best-known information and guidance.”
Key Allies
Pisgah Legal Services are legal advocates for a host of social justice issues. In this arena, they are mostly doing individual advocacy to assist and represent the undocumented.
